DIN 1.2367 (EN 1.2367) is a premium chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed hot work tool steel, refined through the ESR (Electro-Slag Remelting) process to achieve exceptional microstructural purity, fine grain size, and homogeneity. This advanced refinement significantly enhances its thermal fatigue resistance, isotropy, and mechanical stability compared to conventional grades.

5.DIN 1.2367 Tool Steel Heat Treatment

  • Forging: Heat DIN 1.2367 steel to 1100-900°C (2012-1652°F). Avoid forging below 850°C (1562°F).

  • Annealing: Anneal DIN 1.2367 at 850°C, slow cool at ≤10°C/h to 600°C. Final hardness: ≤229 HB.

  • Quenching: Air or oil cool from 1020-1080°C (1868-1976°F).

  • Tempering: Temper DIN 1.2367 at 550-650°C (1022-1202°F) for 2 hours. Double tempering recommended for uniform hardness (50-54 HRC).
