5. DIN 1.2550 Tool Steel Heat Treatment
Annealing: Heat to 700-730°C, slow cool to ≤650°C. Final hardness: 229-285 HB.
Quenching: Oil quench from 860-900°C to achieve uniform hardness (53-56 HRC).
Tempering: Temper at 200-470°C for 1-2 hours. Double tempering recommended to reduce residual stress and enhance toughness.
